A few years ago, a dream to tour the world and make music was held close by Self-Control’s Ryan Botha. With strong determination, they rose to the top of Indonesia’s unsigned charts, gained recognition through various media outlets and in December 2008, opened for “Angels & Airwaves” in Singapore. Unfortunately, as time goes by, some things must come to an end.

With the dream still burning bright in Mid-March 2010, Ryan found himself in Perth, Western Australia. Collaborating with local musicians James White, Jim Garrett, Robin Winter and Dave Lee, they came together to create the lively and enthusiastic pop-punk hardcore band now known as “CUPIDFALLS”. Sharing the same dreams and drive to attain their goals, the band swiftly entered the studio and endured hours of hard practice whilst laying down various demo tracks. This however, was only the beginning of CUPIDFALLS.

The band has already performed numerous times at some of Perth’s leading venues such as “The Rocket Room”, “The Rosemount”, “Black Betty’s” and “Amplifier Bar”. Having also shared stages with popular national acts such as “I Am Villain”, “The Sunny Side Up” and “For Our Hero”, CUPIDFALLS definitely has what it takes to put on an electrifying performance and capture an audience.

CUPIDFALLS were selected from over 700 bands from across Australia to be a part of the top 10 finalists in Nova FM’s, “I Am with the Band” competition. CUPIDFALLS were then aired daily on national television during prime time viewing and performed at Fremantle’s Prison for the competition’s showcase, which was covered a broadcast live on Nova 93.7Fm. Having been interviewed by Channel 11 and Nova Fm, CUPIDFALLS have made their debut on Australian Television and have built a national fan base.

On April 1st 2011, the guys made their way to Sydney, NSW, to commence recording their debut EP “Dancing in Distortion” with popular Engineer / Producer Sonny Truelove (Angelas Dish, Before Their Eyes) at STL Studios. The album was then mixed by Sonny and mastered by Troy Glessner (Anberlin, MXPX, Underoath, Aiden) of Spectre Studios in the USA. Since getting back to Perth, their single “Drive Away” has been aired on 89.7Fm (Anarchy on Air) for 3 consecutive weeks (still counting) and has received thousands of plays on various sites over the Internet.

CUPIDFALLS has come a long way in what has been little over a year since the band formed. This is a credit to the member’s individual successes as musicians in the local scene, and with their persistence and determination they hope to further their dreams while dropping into breakdowns and moving audiences with their infectious live performances.

Mr. Mesmer and Nadja met on a warm winter night under star light and over wine. At eleven thirty he leant in and sang softly into her ear. She smiled, pulled at her glove, and slapped him. They both knew this was the beginning of something magnificent.

Christopher Mesmer (formerly of Reveille) Nadja Mesmer (formerly of Coal Chamber) and Bones Elias (Julien-K/ formerly Dead By Sunrise) are the trio know as Vera Mesmer, a sonic and literary depiction of the lost craft of storytelling and artistry.

Stitched Up Heart has terrorized the music scene with an explosive mix of crunchy rock, punk, and subtle jazzy/pop undertones. The bands fresh to the ears music of loud guitars, memorable vocal melodies, and squealing metal leads, brings infectious sounds to revive the true name of Hard Rock.

2010 is the birth date of Stitched Up Heart and 2011 brought several opportunities to the table in an explosively short time. Their resume already holds SXSW, Warped Tour, and by the end of the third tour of this bands first year together they will have hit over 10 different states in the US.

Producer Mike Sarkisyan and Tommy Decker have polished up Stitched Up Heart’s 6 song EP “Escape The Nightmare” which the band will only be selling hard copies of live at their shows.

Rien Ne Va Plus were formed in 2007 and completed by the second guitarist in 2008.

Due the expirience of every single band member, and the constant of practising of at least 3 times every week, Rien Ne Va Plus decided to record their first demo cd, without having had one single live gig at that moment.

So not only the short amount of time the band had to write and finalize the seven songs, but also the fact that Rien Ne Va Plus haven´t performed their songs live before, corroborates the high quality of their first CD.

With the help of Los Dreams, Rien Ne Va Plus made substantial progresses with their studio – work and so the cd was released at the end os september.

In January 2010 a new memebr joined RNVP, DJ able on the turntable. AT the Moment RNVP is snowed under with work to organize several live gigs.

Second chances can be especially sweet, and for Trust Company, the four-piece hard rock band from Montgomery, Alabama, reuniting has been sweet indeed, allowing the band to fall in love with making music again because they’re doing it for themselves, free of the pressures, expectations and distractions of the business. On their new album, Dreaming In Black And White, the band branches off in exciting new directions while retaining the overpowering combination of intense hard rock and irresistible melodies that will delight both the hardcore base of fans that have been waiting patiently for years for Trust Company to return, and a new throng of fans that will be hearing the band for the first time.

The last the world heard from Trust Company was in 2005, when after release of their second album, True Parallels, they announced that they’d be going on hiatus. As lead vocalist and guitarist Kevin Palmer remembers, “After True Parallels, we were in a bad spot. No one was happy. We had been rushed into the studio to meet a record company deadline and all those external pressures – all the outside opinions about how our music should sound – had it stop being fun, which is why we got into it in the first place.” Drummer Jason Singleton adds, “We never said ‘we’re breaking up.’ It just stopped being exciting.  We had to get away from the big machine for a while.”

The band had made a lot of fans since its formation in 1997 and especially after their breakout success in 2002, with their gold selling debut, The Lonely Position Of Neutral and the hit single “Downfall.” Extensive airplay on MTV for “Downfall” and continuous touring with such bands as Korn, Papa Roach and Disturbed earned the band an especially rabid following, one that stuck around through the ensuing years that the band was apart. Jason recalls, “We all were in various side projects during our time apart and we made it a point to keep in touch with the fans via MySpace.  But that whole time we were away we all kept getting emails asking, ‘When is the next Trust Company album coming?’”

But the time away was beneficial, allowing the band to fall in love with music again. As Kevin explains, “When we finally got back together – which just started with an email asking if we wanted to jam – we let our wounds heal. It had us focus on the music without any expectations. We started having fun again, and that was all the expectation we wanted. We played for ourselves. It was the same feeling that it was back in the good old days.” And after getting their road legs back with gigging in 2008 and 2009, the band (including original member James Fukai on lead guitar) settled in to make new music for the first time in years.

The evidence of all the good feeling created by their reunion is in their new album, Dreaming In Black And White. Produced by Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Sponge, Emphatic) the album is less a return to form than it is the truest representation of the band ever captured on record. Kevin elaborates, “Working with Chuck was awesome. When we first got signed, we jumped into the whole label world of singles and all that. Chuck helped us forget about those things.” Jason adds, “We’ve all just grown and grown. We’re all married now. The natural progress of time will change people, and that has come out in the music.”
