Rien Ne Va Plus were formed in 2007 and completed by the second guitarist in 2008.

Due the expirience of every single band member, and the constant of practising of at least 3 times every week, Rien Ne Va Plus decided to record their first demo cd, without having had one single live gig at that moment.

So not only the short amount of time the band had to write and finalize the seven songs, but also the fact that Rien Ne Va Plus haven´t performed their songs live before, corroborates the high quality of their first CD.

With the help of Los Dreams, Rien Ne Va Plus made substantial progresses with their studio – work and so the cd was released at the end os september.

In January 2010 a new memebr joined RNVP, DJ able on the turntable. AT the Moment RNVP is snowed under with work to organize several live gigs.

Mr. Mesmer and Nadja met on a warm winter night under star light and over wine. At eleven thirty he leant in and sang softly into her ear. She smiled, pulled at her glove, and slapped him. They both knew this was the beginning of something magnificent.

Christopher Mesmer (formerly of Reveille) Nadja Mesmer (formerly of Coal Chamber) and Bones Elias (Julien-K/ formerly Dead By Sunrise) are the trio know as Vera Mesmer, a sonic and literary depiction of the lost craft of storytelling and artistry.

“Society 1 captures the essence of abuse, overkill and ultimate inspiration…”

One of the many quotes that describe what Society 1 has become since their inception. Love or hate what Society 1 stand for, no one can argue with the controversial recognition of this band. They have pushed limits that didn’t even exist in terms of their live body suspension performances. They have blurred the lines of music credibility versus sexual exploration. At one point within the bands career lead singer Matt “The Lord” Zane created an entire philosophy based on his lyrical messages which ultimately lead to him publishing the book “Doctrines of the Infernal Process”.

This band is not ordinary. Society 1 isn’t just about music. To look at them as just a band would mean to deny what they actually are, a social experience and cult art statement. This forces one to consider the possibility that a band, on rare occasions, can be much more than four guys playing music.

After such infamous accomplishments there would seem to be nothing left to prove or in Society 1 terms, nothing left to pervert and destroy. After a five year hiatus and some reflection on the ruins left in the past Society 1 agree. The band has resurfaced with a new sound and image finally focused on the one thing that seemed to always be an afterthought….the music.

For the first time in the bands sordid career they let go of their kill or be killed mentality and welcome people to hear a more intimate and honest aspect of their existence. The depth of the new album “The Lonely God” will bring the listener on a journey that one would never expect especially from a band steeped in endless controversy such as Society 1

They display the epic roar of Metallica, the disconsolate tones of Tool, the in-your-face ferociousness of Rammstein, and the sweeping sorrow of Alice In Chains. But these are mere points of reference, because My Favorite Scar don’t copy any other bands, nor are they prisoners of any one genre.

The band members like to call it ‘dark rock’, and that’s probably the most apt description. Their sound and lyrics are steeped in melancholy. The latter is down to singer Jay. The death of his mother, when he was just 21, had a stranglehold on him for years. “I tried for a long time, together with my brother Evan (guitar), to find a song that captured that feeling within me.” That song became My Favorite Scar. It was also the only band name that seemed right. Of all the scars Jay has accumulated in life, this one is his most treasured, although that seems like a strange thing to say. He explains: “Every scar has a story, as does this one. The positive aspect is that it continues to remind me of my mother, which is why I sing: You’re the lines in my hand, the green in my eyes.”

Producer Oscar Holleman (Within Temptation) adopted My Favorite Scar as his ‘hobby project’ in the beginning of 2007. They soon became a priority act for the in-demand studio veteran. Holleman co-wrote some material, provided their sound with a more grimy edge, and created the right mood for the songs. “You could definitely call him our sixth band member”, says Jay.

The end result is an album where the dense guitars of Evan and Dan, and the driving, sometimes industrial rhythm patterns of bass player Pat and drummer Stephen fuse seamlessly with Jay’s catchy melodic vocal lines. My Favorite Scar sound both fierce and fragile at the same time, which is what makes their music so distinctive. They effortlessly switch between unforgiving metal tracks such as No Love Lost and remarkably accessible numbers like Kingsize and Waste, the first single. ‘This Poison Love’ was written together with Ben Moody (ex-Evanescence). The band met Ben Moody while supporting Moody’s new band We Are The Fallen last June in the Melkweg, Amsterdam.

In the short time they’ve been together as My Favorite Scar, the band have played with the likes of Disturbed, Megadeth, We Are The Fallen and they supported Kiss in the Gelredome. They appeared on the bill of the Global East festival in Kiev as well, which also included Motörhead.

After touring key summer festivals, My Favorite Scar started their Fall tour in September 2010. Besides Dutch club stages, this tour includes international support slots with US Rockband Alter Bridge in Antwerp and Berlin.

Their MySpace page very quickly notched up over 100,000 hits, and early this year, they launched their own Scar Channel; a weekly on-line video update to keep the band’s swelling legion of fans informed of their exploits. It was much needed, because Evan promises there’ll be many activities to report back to the MFS faithful in the times ahead. “We’re ambitious, and we don’t shy away from anything.

Down the line, we’ve shed blood, sweat, tears, and relationships for this way of life. Others may have fallen by the wayside, but we’ve sworn never to give up.”

Heavy, all-out and riddled with multi-layered melodies – the distinctive metalcore mix of THE MERCURY ARC

THE MERCURY ARC also takes the cover of the May Issue of Hollywood Music Magazine, and stands for impulsive tension, reactive melodies and aggressive audio-impact.Mercury is known for it’s toxicity and for it’s liquid state of aggregation which is unique among metal. So is the dynamic music of the band, named after the physical mercury phenomenon, which shifts the listener into a toxic flush. The band’s name has been chosen consciously to express how the band’s sound unifies metallic heaviness, liquid liveliness and melodic ease.

Since 2006 it’s the stated aim of the band to establish a musical massif of various styles of Metal and Hardcore. These six blooded musicians: Dennis Diehl, Benny Richter, Thomas Helten, Dominic Paraskevopoulos, Andy Posdziech and Andy Latzko from the Ruhr-Area, Germany have now recorded their debut album “Paint The Sun Black” which was released in Germany on 6th of November 2009 through Hellfest Records. The debut record embodies the fast-paced development of THE MERCURY ARC. With the new record in stores and their new band name (formerly Butterfly Coma) along with their new guitar player these musicians will push the envelope in 2010.
